    Transporting 338 Lapua/300 Norma rounds when hunting?

    Just wondering how everybody with 338 Lapua/300 Norma type cartridges carry their spare loaded rounds when hunting in the field? I carry my 260 rounds in a cut down (4 & 5 rounds) plastic Federal holder which came with a box of factory ammo. Nice and compact and quick to access from my bumbag. Given most people probably purchased components and not factory ammo for their Lapua/Normas, I cant imagine there will be too many of these plastic holders around. I have seen the brown plastic holders with a lid which hold around 9 rounds. Stoney Creek have their ammo pouch which might be ok but unsure whether they would take these sized cartridges. Any other options?

    I got some canvas pouches with elastic straps years ago for my 300 Rum that hold ten.

    I don't know who made them, they hold Lapua, Wsm etc, the elastic is getting stuffed, might have to get them fixed.

    yeah its a bit annoying. my edge loaded round is about 4.00" so getting up there.

    I just stash a few here and there in pockets. they dont fit in the stoney creek pouch very well.

    I use one of these for my spare ammo when out hunting:
    MTM Ammo Wallet Large

    Works great and can hold different calibers, depending on what you are hunting with.

    If going for a night or two I throw this in the pack.
    Holds 10 rounds, 338 lapua, 375 or bmg.

    @BRADS - where'd you source that from?

    I'd be interested in something similar but obviously for smaller cartridges

    Isn't HGD on here? He could make you up a nice leather case to carry them on your belt.

    Yeah thats what I was referring to Bryan!
    Brads, that's what I'm looking for...as per Pop Shot's question - where you get it from or who manufactured?
    LOL - probably a bit over kill in relation to volume of rounds required for me I think Specweapon!
