    Tripod advice

Looking at getting a Sunwayfoto tripod. They seem to get good reviews online.

Question is how do you guys find the saddle adaptor vs clipping straight into the arca / pic rail ?

I’d like to run a few rifles though the tripod and wondering if it’s better to chuck rails on all the rifles. Obviously more expensive and not super keen to drill into my carbon stock. Or will using the sm-76 saddle adapter should do the job just fine ?

What are you guys doing ?

    Have a look at"manbily MA-284GL"
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

    Saddles suck. Get rails.

I run ARCA rails on most of my rifles but have a saddle on an arca for the guns that dont require one.

This is mainly the wee 223 and 204, I do this so the kids can shoot from the sitting / kneeling and standing positions which they often prefer on uneven ground.

I'd reccomend the BOG tripods, the Deathgrip infinite comes with a saddle and is ARCA compatible.

    YMMV

I just finished decorating the tripod for PRS matches. I would prefer arca interface as you can put not just rifle, but also 100 other gadgets that has arca interface,

I have glued an arca rail on carbon stock for a mate...with a flexible glue that is relatively easy to remove...we tested it hard in the shop and its been working over a year now.

Here's a link to the plate that replaces one on a tripod head, and can take both Picatinny and Arca fittings. Caveat - you need to make sure it will fit the tripod head you currently have some aren't universal.

These are a nice way to attach the tripod to your gun.

If possible I’d only use a saddle as a last resort.
