Trying to find out about Lee Enfield No4 MK1.

    Hello All!

I have a nice looking Lee Enfield I have brought a while back and have been trying to find out a bit more about it but no matter where I look on the net I can't seem to suss it out. (either its hard to find or I suck at google) But its marked on the side very faint as a No.4 Mk1

On the top of the breach its marked as PARKER HALE BIRMINGHAM4

There is nothing on the right side of it for markings but on the wrist I think its called on the left it also has the serial which matches the bolt and above that says 1944 and above that M47. I found heaps online about how Parker Hale sporterised these but this ones fully wooded so giving my noobiness I have no idea what this is. It also has some stamping on the crown but its over the top of other stamps so cant really read it.

Any help to shed some light on this would be awesome.

    Cheers

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

Cheers but all the hunting around I have done says Parker Hale sporterised them? It also has no FTR marks on it that I can see?

The wood looks very similar to the "Irish contract" Enfield made in 1955. They were mk2 though. I suspect it was either ftrd or somebody has gotten new old stock of the wood and placed the action in it. It's probably worth a bit so keep it tidy
