@stug thanks mate. If one wanted it slightly thinner through there (I find with gloves on its a bit thicker when carrying) is that possible? No drama if not.

@Timmay unfortunately no. I would need to make a new mold to alter the size of the stock.

That looks stunning. Great worksmanship @stug

Good for you Frodi, go with what ya want. I have owned a couple of Kimbers & they're not bad ( my current bush gun is a Montana 7-08 with 13" suppressed barrel it shoots mint ) they are light, have nice triggers, good safteys & the ones Ive had shot well, but they are very short in stock / length of pull & have a horrid high bolt lift.

As for Weatherby's, I love mine but it's taken a few years to fall fully in love. Mine began as a 308, love the style, stock fit, action, saftey & low lift bolt but it never quite performed to what I knew it could & their blueing is shite , they rust like a mother fuckar & the washer system for the action bolts is a proper pain in the arse.

That's when "Tim" was born, I sent it to Kiwi Greg @ Terminator & had it reamed out to an Improved max 30-06, ceracoated, re-beaded ( front & rear ) fitted a decent T1 brake & put a Swaro Z5 on top, have fell fully in love with it.

This thing is awesome, It's light 6.7 lb is beautiful to carry & shoots great with plenty of grunt ( basically 300 WM performance ) for a LW hunting rifle

I've bowled a fair number with tim now, here's a couple of pics from this weekend. Weatherby's are cool

Looks like you've got a great set-up there, Phil, but fuck me, I'm not spending 3k + on a Weatherby if it means I've got to piss around with it. Handling it in the store, my impression was that it felt very durable...but rust, inaccuracy (read a bit more about that downside online today)...Errrrrrrrr!!

Tikkas are becoming more and more attractive by the day. I've already had a Sako screw up on me. The last thing I'd want is a weatherby being an absolute headache as well. Lol

"Terminator Improved Max" so Tim for short, kinda become a bit of a well known favourite of mine of the last year or so. It's one of KG's designs & has very impressive performance.

    7-08, 30-06 tim & 338 edge for comparison.

Yeah to be honest, as I've said Weatherby's are kinda cool, But yes they certainly aren't the best value or best performing "out'a the box" rifle.

Buying a light weight comes down to two things "what you want" & "what you want".

So in short do what you want a budget rifle that shoots great, you can mount a great scope on, spend a few more $$ & biff the standard poxy plastic stock & get a LW cabon then go for a T3. It will do all you want & more

But if you want to be different from the masses then go for something else, There's nothing wrong with being an individual just might take a bot of time to sort & depends on how much you want to invest.

For a real light weight 400yard mountain gun I'd go for a 6.5, 7mm or 308 & chuck a decent scope on it, Chur
