Haha couldn't resist.
And I don't even have a 308.
What a stupid argument. Absolute dig

221 Fireball is the go for the recoil-shy!
22LONG RIFLE IS THE BEST CALIBER WHY PUT UP WITH RECOIL. IT HAS A WAY BETTER BALLISTIC COEFFICIENT THAN ANY 30 CAL

25/06 is the hermaroid of the shooting world
Well, the one thing it does have going for it is projectile availability...
Have a look at the Gunworks website, it is just about the only caliber where all the options are still available. Even on the .458 side things are starting to look a bit grim...
It was doomed from the start when they used the gay 270 as the parent case and introduced it as the 25/270....upon realizing thier mistake they tried to man it up by re-naming it the 25/oughtsix but alas the damage was already done.
They knew, in hindsight they should've parented it off the 08 case, given it a 40° shoulder and it would've been a best seller to this day!
well they go bang and stuff tends to fall over,so it cant be all bad...
I actually have never understood the 25-06 seems a bit of a retarded invention really all that powder just to puff out an anemic projectile that will only kill cleanly at the same ranges a 243 is more than capable of pushing it. Strange
They work bloody well, one of the cartridges that has to be seen to be believed, rather than reading paper ballistics. Mate here has killed hundreds of sika with the humble 100gr nosler BT's.
Don't knock it really works.
sometimes , something that sucks is good too...
A mate made a living using a his 25-06 in the deer recovery days, flat shooting for longer ranges for those days.
You need da huge raarks to run da Creedmoor.
25-06 is up there too

I see the bait.... must not bite....... I see the bait.....must not bite, some of you pricks are fishers not hunters...... must not bite:fighting:
First time I shot a 25-06 was over the way from where I'm sitting now, quite a long time ago now.
Mate pitches up with a new T3.
What's that? I say.
Twenty five aught six.
Oh. Is that really necessary?
Don't worry bout it.
He says ooohh, there's a hare.
Where?
Over there, 450ish metres.
Crikey.
Some range finding and mucking around with rests and then....
BANG
The whole fucking neighbourhood heard that shot and probably saw the red mist hare explosion. They'd only just damn well gotten used to me with a .22LR FFS.
I never really forgave him for that.
But it was funny.
Had one for a while and found it very efficient , as stated there are better rounds around but if that was all you had you would be OK for anything in NZ.
The first rifle I bought myself was a 25-06 about 20yrs back. Back then most 25-06 factory ammo outperformed 243 ammo. The rifle I took the most game with from doves, a lot of springbuck, range of bigger antelope up to eland. Super accurate while her barrel lasted and my go to rifle for culling.
But I agree that there are more efficient cartridges out there. Sold the action when the barrel eventually went south.
It's killed everything I've ever shot at with it. It'll do me.
Anyone noticed those craters on the moon?
They Weren't there before the 25/06 came along Boy.
