Following on from a recent post (and thanks to all who contributed) I took note where I could and costs allowed, I know they are not for everyone, but a lot of people have been interested so proceeded, aimed them.
First was the bolt action, where went for the little Rossi inexpensive but reliable and by many accounts a good performer.
Second there was an overwhelming want for a semi, so this is where I ventured somewhere different in the form of the new Winchester Wildcat. Whilst to pick fault with it I would say it's a little plasticky and toy like, many reports on the web around the world just love this thing and I have to say it does have some really cool features, e.g. press a button (no tools required) and the entire trigger and block assembly simply drops out for cleaning, also it can use 10/22 rotary mags, it even has a couple of allen keys held within the gun.
So here are some photos and a couple of Utube videos of the guns (still in the white - black anodize on the production models), they are not quite as quiet as the videos suggest but in reality not much louder...all seasoned shooters so far have been very surprised just how quiet these are, I won't use the words they used to express their surprise ha ha
In order to get the lengths (both are around 900mm) I cut the barrels, so we need to do some accuracy testing now, but I don't envisage too much issue here, they were never meant to long range target guns.
The other key point is that I am aiming to be able to do both for under a $K all up with a scope, with the bolt action a lot cheaper
Cheers to all
Darren
