I have a 516 and the Troy SPR.
Attachment 249952
The 516 is as close as you can get to the real AR platform that you can shoot on a normal sporting license. Especially if you fit a normal charging handle.
Good factory trigger (one of the best I've found)
The left hand charging has no option to swap.
You will need to mount the scope further back, or lift your face off the butt stock to use the UTAS or normal charging handle.
Parts are well loctited and wrenched on. Hard to take off to fit after market parts.
I'd recommend taking out the extractor spring rubber O-ring, plunger to avoid issues with the bolt locking in properly and causing misfires.
Decent UTAS build quality, the 716 would be the same quality.
The Troy has easy to swap left or right handed charging. I prefer right side.
But has very few AR compatible parts you can swap out.
Terrible factory trigger that will need upgrading.
Need a special tool to take bolt and buffer spring out to take apart.
But decent Troy built quality.
Pity you are down south, as you could have a had a go with my 516 and Troy to help decide.
