    Value of bsa martini mk2 target rifle

    A mate wants a rifle I have but has no cash so he has offered a swap for his bsa martini mk2 target rifle 22lr
    With cash my way

    His rifle is in mint condition it looks like it was a private owned gun rather than a club rifle it really is mint
    It has parkerhale sights and is in a custom fit box
    He gave the gun to me a couple of weeks ago to play with and I really like shooting it its very accurate as to be expected I geuss

    I don't mind helping him out but i don't want to lose money on the deal I will probably end up on selling at some stage
    So im wondering what would be a safe bet as to how much it Will sell for so I don't under sell myself

    Cheers

    @rambo-6mmrem
    A mate of mine bought a privately owned LH model, with F&R aperture sights, custom fitted case and a few small tools to fit.
    IIRC he paid $350 for it.
    Change of job means he hasn't shot it much lately - or the JW-15 he owns as well.

    $ 250 to $ 300

    don't pay more than $ 400, no matter what the condition

    extraction is the main issue on those.

    one of the smallbore gurus explained it to me when I looked at one, hopefully I am remembering this correctly

    i think he said that the BSA has a single extractor where the Anschutz's have twin claws ? it would be worth chatting to someone at your local smallbore club.

    My Anschutz 1410 M54 has double claw extractors.
    Probably needs a new spring to make extraction an 'every time' occurrence.
    Shoots better than I can too.

    The BSA International Mk 2 has the most positive extraction you will ever see on a .22 match rifle. The empties are ejected sharply to bounce of the shooter 5 down from you. I don't know what you would have been looking at EBF, but it wasn't one of these.
    If the bore is in good condition, the accuracy will be as good as any of the current offerings, and the sights wind the right way for fullbore shooters. Unfashionable, so yes, you will pick up a good one for under $500. As value for money it should feel like stealing, considering the quality and accuracy package that they are.

    I've had two of these at various times. Never had a single issue with either, and they shot outstanding well for the money.

    Sold both of mine for about $350 (each) on trademe, with all accessories and hard cases etc.
