    Vertical pistol grip?

    Hi all,

Currently gathering the parts for a 26" 7mm magnum build & can't decide on the stock. It's for a big country rifle that'll be carried a lot, shot mostly prone but occasionally from a standing snap shot.

Tossing up between a McMillan Hunters Edge (700g) and a McMillan Game Scout (800g with Edge fill). The only real difference being the vertical pistol grip, forend is the same.

    Who's using them?

    Advantages?
Obviously, pretty comfortable from the prone. What else...

    Disadvantages?
Does it hit you in the kidneys when its slung over your shoulder? Slower for snap shots? More bulky? Anything else...

Thanks in advance. Putting a fair wedge of cash into this so want to get it right the first time.

    Cheers.
