Vortex Fury & Sig Kilo 3000 BDX Binos

Does anyone have experience with these? Looking for an upgrade set of binos in the near future and keen on a range finding combo. The lifetime warranty on the Vortex for both optics and electronics is very attractive and the bluetooth ballistic app for super quick ballistic solutions through the sig binos looks awesome too.

A pair of Swaro EL 10x42s would be a dream but that's a ton of coin for this family man hence the cheaper options..

    Cheers team.

While Vortex market the shit out of the "forever" warranty, pretty much all manufacturers offer the same, including Sig.

I just read the Sig fineprint. 5 years on the electronics in a rangefinder if I read it correctly.

It'll probably be cheaper in the long run to save a while longer and go for a euro rangefinding unit. Reason being that they hold their value remarkably well. The sig unit is what? $2.5k. For a couple hundred more you could get a pair of geovid hd's without all the ballistics fluff. - assuming you're only after something for general hunting applications.

The geovids will still be worth $1300 (if not more) in ten years from now. The sig, while probably a great unit (and it isn't exactly 'cheap' either), will not hold its value aswell I imagine, and it's still got the same acchilles heal as most electronic gadgets (limited warranty and subject to obsolescence).

I think the sig is more suited to the less budget conscious who can afford to regularly upgrade, and who need a sophisticated unit for long range work.

But that's just my opinion. Others may think the exact opposite.

Correct, 5 years for electronic parts. Very aware of this since before I purchased mine. You only need a warranty the product is a problem.

Good looking piece of kit alright. That's same crazy long ranges for the RF! Will be keen to see your review following a glass comparison to the Euro competition.
