    vortex generation 2 Pst

Has anyone any experience with this model
specifically the 3x15x44 mirad ffp model but the moa model experience is just as valid
The Vortex pst has from what I've read has a shaky reputation for quality although I've heard nothing about a shaky reputation for customer service and from what I've read Cs seems very good, it is just that it would be better if it apparently wasn't needed as much.

This scope ticks all the boxes for me for a short to medium range varmint scope on game of a size where a 223 bullet hitting most anywhere will cause immediate or very close to vacancy of life. soo rabbits etc out to 5-600yrds.

It would be a toss up twixt this or a Sightron Tac 2.5x17 but the 56mm reticle is huge and the scope weighs as much as a S@b PM11.so it's back to the vortex if its any good.
Anything else I shoud be looking at
could always go down the Leupy VX3 4x14 Lr route again and stick M1 turrets on it but the Vortex can be had for 900USD and works out cheaper and has the reticle I want , again if the gen 2 is any better.

    What do you think?

    Hey @jakewire,

I have that scope and the 5-25x50 but they are MOA FFP, beautiful and certainly a step up on the Gen I.
I had no issues at all with the 3 Gen I's I had.
I also have a Razor HD Gen I which is rather nice as well.
Drop me a PM if you want to know more... Cheers Craig

I have the Sightron S-TAC 2.5-17.5x56 that you mentioned.
Use it on my AR15 on hares out to 400m (best shot yet)
Absolute dynamite. Tracks perfectly, and simply unbelievable when used with a spotlight. Bright and clear and BLAMMO the bunny be gone.

    Thanks Craig and Gerbs.
I must admit the Sightron was the one I initially had my eye on but it's 300SUD dearer and it's so big, wish the reticle was 50m [ haven't seen one in the flesh just spec's ].

Yes looked at that one as well Tim
but prefer the turrets on the vortex and tac, though I think you can swap out some of the S111 turrets to the uncovered ones , they advertise them on the web sight.
I probably dpon't need the higher may range really though I admit there have been times when I would have liked more than the 12x I currently have .

Cheers mate down south, though thanks anyway.
Can't find too much wrong with that Vortex x15 ffp on the www . might take the plunge there, always a hard decision as you second guess yourself all the way.

You should check these out Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18×44 ,FFP, zero stop, illuminated, 24 mils adjustment, made in Japan -same factory as Nightforce, great glass highly recommend.
A definite step up from Gen 2 PST at least as comparable to razor Gen 1.

Wouldn't waste ya hard earned dollars on one of those mate, I brought one to put on the Edge, ticked all the boxes apart from the ridiculously tall elevation turret ( seems to be a stupid trend at the mo ) just wasn't up to mine or your standard.

Was a very nice scope, TMOA is a great reticle with good glass plus a good weight & size. But the clicks were terrible & mushy worse than a 200 Chinese piece of shit and had farken awful over travel, I was very disappointed considering that it's called a LRP ( long range precision ) really should stand for "long range poo's" I thought leupold were a bit more clued up. Ended up taking it back & was told by the importers that's how they are
