Thread: Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6

Hey guys, fair bit of interest in these so thought I'd do a real basic review of sorts

So my first impressions are

- it seems heavy (I weighed it at 524g)
- seems really nicely made
- the reticles nice. It's a bdc reticle with plenty of illumination ranges. Seems bright enough during the day.
- comes with flip up scope covers which is neat.
- eye relief seems generous.
- has a spare battery in the windage cap.
-out of the box comes with a lens cloth and manual
- I did notice a true 1 power. You can shoot with both eyes open happily

Nice, I am definitely going to get one of the Aero Mounts. Shaving 100g off is a good thing.

Without digging myself is the aero the best option?

Got mine on Thursday (Last one from Re-loaders) and put 200+ rounds through my AR15 today with it on today.
Easy to sight in and once I had it shooting straight, hitting 6" steel plates quickly at 200m was child's play.
1x is a true 1 power so close up targets are a breeze so I wont be re-mounting a side mounted red dot. I have a switch view lever coming next week which will make swapping magnification easier and super quick.
Up till now most of my AR15 have 1-4 power scope. The 6 power is a nice increase in magnification.
It is larger and heavier than all the 1-4 scopes but not by much and not enough to slow down the rifle handling characteristics.

Looking forward to getting back out next weekend for another go.

good stuff @Simon Keep us up to date with how it goes. I am just waiting for my mount to turn up so I can try mine out. Decided to stick with a Burris mount in the end.

I just made my own switchview out of cable ties, tongue depresser and tape.
Bit rough but it works😆

Mine are soft with barely audable clicks.
MPI moves accurately.

Mine are smooth and are just audible / feel able.
Yet to check the dialling but once I had it zeroed moving the zero mark for was very easy to do.
When sighting in the rounds impact moved exactly as per the adjustments I made.

Roll on the weekend.

Finally get to sight mine in tomorrow. But the spr arrived

Fired another 100 plus rounds using mine today.
Like it a lot.
Switch view leaver makes changing the magnification on the fly easy and quick. First time using this and was easy to pickup and use plus smart looking.
Wish I had order other switch view levers to suit a couple of other scopes I have.

Reloaders look to have the scopes back in stock again. Sharp price.
