    Vortex Viper problem

The Viper 6.5-20x50 scope I have on my 223 has developed an issue I'm not sure if anyone had something similar.
Has a fuzziness like heat mirage when looking through it.
Brand new scope, brand new Tikka, brand new DPT suppressor.
First noticed it after a few shots when sighting the rifle in and thought it was heat mirage. Only after 3 shots it was really hard to look through it. I'd leave it for 15-20mins to get cold before firing anymore.
Last weekend at a steel shoot, it got to the point where I didn't have to fire the rifle and the vision was very hazy. Barrel, suppressor and scope were cold to touch. The day was cold but fine.
Anyone struck this fault or something similar?

I've been in contact with Vortex and they're replacing in under warranty.
Just interested if anyone has come across this before.

You sure it's not just a normal "looking through a coke bottle full of muddy water" Vortex?

Reading online reviews it would appear that some of the cheaper high magnification scopes (top end over 20x subject to $ range) start to get hazy at the top end. ie $$'s saved in the lenses and alignment start showing up as optical errors, hazing etc.
Not suggesting Vortex are guilty of this as I have not used any of their product.

It was definitely worse when zoomed out. Still bad down the lower magnification range though.
Strange how it seemed OK for a bit then it got worse as you looked through it when spotting for others.
Had a few guys look through it and they said the same.
Vortex very prompt reply and said they'd replace straight away so I suspect they've had just a few

Don't seem to have as many problems given they are a budget scope

Sure it wasn't the suppressor causing haze? Blocking view? Laugh if it was
