Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 on Remington 700

    Hi,

I am looking at getting a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x50 for my Remington 700. Has anyone had any experience with this scope and know how much elevation adjustment it has with 0 MOA rings? as long as I still have 30 MOA adjustment I am happy. Hard to find any straight forward answers online and most people just go with a 20 MOA rail anyway, I prefer the look of just having the Talley rings on the action.

    Thanks in advance.

My 3-15 PST only gives me 14mils (approx 35moa) with a 20moa base, the 5-25 has a little less elevation travel so I think you'd need some cant in your mount.

I had a 5-25 PST, from memory with 40moa mounts I couldn't quite zero the scope (too much cant).
So a 20-30moa would probably be wise.

I have a 40 moa mount on the 22 and 260 have used pst2 5-25 on both and had no issues. 26mils advertised, mine has more. hate to think how many time its been wound all the way up and down. still working great.

Its a 375 Ruger necked to 7mm (pushing 163gr at 3200fps). Keen to try shoot it out to 1km, based on a 200yd zero 1100yds is 23 1/2 MOA.
