Good question. I like the fact the 1885 has an external hammer. The No1 is the least refined. ( but still very useable).
The M10’s have in my opinion beautiful balance. They are petite, slick and superbly finished. If I was to have one for the action probably an M10. However that’s only one reason you have favorites. The 1885 was stocked by a NZ craftsman and has his blood sweat and tears in the build. That’s my emotional choice.
Moving a few rifles around at the moment and taking the opportunity to oil the metal work and feed the stocks I know its not walnut but my little humble Brno Model 5 still looks fine in my book.

not walnut ?? turkish walnut perhaps what do you think it is ?? and yes its very nice indeed
I would call it as walnut just a european species not ya normal English variety
Never really gave it much thought , I used to have a few old Brnos from the fifties and the stocks were always plain mostly , that is a exceptional one , I only have a Model 1 left , never fondled a model 5 , trigger supposed to be better is that a fact ?
Model 5 is a model two action and model one barrel I thought. Trigger should be model 2 design.
