    Moving a few rifles around at the moment and taking the opportunity to oil the metal work and feed the stocks I know its not walnut but my little humble Brno Model 5 still looks fine in my book.

    Well it may be walnut but not the traditional European walnut ( Turkish type). They came in three versions walnut, beech, and walnut with checkered hand grip. I’m not an expert on Brno ( although have 4) model 1, 2, 5, and 465 Hornet.

    I would call it as walnut just a european species not ya normal English variety

    That's not an uncommon grain pattern in walnut
