That brought back memories, the 'Snap On' truck used to visit a job shop i worked for in the 90s........used to drool everytime i went in it....always came out empty handed....just feasted my eyes!!!!!!

Looks like the tips are hard too. Well done.
The extra few yards would hardly register on the wank scale.
And most people would have taken the shot from the initial spot and lied about it being 500.

So. In balance, the minor wank factor is negated by your honesty and I'm pleased to advise you that your wank rating is back to zero.

That's not a very nice thing to say @Scouser.

Im considering putting a night force 5.5-22x50 or 56 on my tikka. Im starting to think it falls in this thread. Im sure the scope weighs more than the rifle.

Both great choices in their own right, but maybe not the best marriage?

The more i think about it, the more i think a lighter scope with extra for a range finder would be nice for the money. Something like the shv.

I have enjoyed reading some of these stories and I am worried my next rifle might fall in this category. Wanting to shoot targets (for now) on a friends property I went and got my FAL 8 months ago, a stop off at gun city and down 600 bucks I brought Marlin 22 lr with all the accessories. Went out 4 times and had shitloads of fun, watched some sniper movies and too many youtube vids and I get a bright idea to try and build a wannabe sniper rifle. Jumped on the net and ordered a vortex razor hd from usa which cost more than the car I drive. Now currently waiting to buy a stock over the net then to buy a rem700 short action. I hope Im not making a mistake when its all done whenever that is!

a mate has got 2x6.5x55 with nf 5.5x22 and once you've done it theres no going back.
