Thread: Wank factor

Come on, admit it...we've all brought or made something because we thought it was going to be super duper loop the looper uber cool, but in hindsight all it was, was pure "wank factor".

Things like 50cals, huge scopes on hunting rifles with 30+ magnification, Rev rodger suppressors, quad rails and all sorts of attachments on AR15's, Damascus steel knives, tactical .22's.. etc...you know what I mean...come on, come clean, what was it you thought you needed but later realized that it was stupid and pointless.

Let's laugh at ourselves, share your expensive fails. I'll start, I made a varmint rifle once, it had the equivalent of atruck axel for a barrel, a fast twist barrel, a 8-32x56 scope... it was ridiculous for many reasons and I was clueless putting it toghether the way I did, oh that and the fact I lived in Thames where I didnt have access to "varmints". And even if I did I wouldn't have been strong enough to carry it anywhere as it had the ergonomics and weight of an anvil.
