Thread: Which way is up?

Up goes to the top and the horizontal ends up on whatever side it ends up on. I have a Russian scope that has the turret for horizontal on the "wrong" side but the reticle is a pillar style so it was kinda obvious which way was up even if I couldn't read Cyrilic (Russian writing?)

I get what you mean and while almost all scopes have the turret on the top and the right, not all do this so there are a few that stick out on the left.

as a side note to this I did have a Winchester 94 that I side mounted a scope on .... I turned the scope on its side (windage on top and elevation on the left as the 94 is top eject and I didn't want cases hitting the scope) and I also wanted to be able to look down the iron sights with no obstruction.... worked fine
