Do you think I'm going to defend your right to use a bolt action when they come for those? Don't think so partner!
Yeah dude, I fully concur, I don't think 'some' people (firearms owners) take issues like this seriously enough! Whilst I have no desire to ever own an MSSA, I certainly have nothing against those who do feel the need or desire to possess one, and I'd certainly support you! Indeed, I even helped my mate get his 'E' Cat licence! As firearms owners we should be united by a common goal, regardless of what type of 'arm' you wish to bear! United we stand, divided we fall, you don't see anti gun lobbyists discriminating like that, they stand together... they want them 'ALL' wiped!

Well what's his problem with fucking 'loopholes' then?

They also don't mention the two glocks that turned up in a drug raid that were supposed to be in a police evidence safe, within a police station. "We'll run the firearms registry" my arse

JONATHAN MILNE What a knob jockey. Because it's an editorial does that mean he's the editor of Stuff? Total scaremongering. Maybe they sould change there name to Stuffed. Herald ain't any better, it's a tabloid now days.
The details of where these pricks get their firearms still isn't known in these latest cases that JM mentions, we won't find out the true details till court, even then you'll probably never get the full story.

Need the media involved in the sport to fight our corner a bit more. Their PC snivelling colleagues need to have a better balanced opinion.

Greg OConner is another broken record, what does that guy actually do. All he ever seems to go on about is more arms for the cops and how officer so an so was in the right when he accidentally discharged his fire arm or U turned in front of unsuspecting citizen in car/ on motor bike, police independent inquiry is independent. Blah blah. Bit of a tucker waster I recon, time to put him out to pasture.

I can't help but get the vibe the O'Connor has a hero complex. He has found an issue - gun control - which he will use as his vehicle to launch a political career and be the guy that did something about that.

I suggest you check your facts regarding the Glock recovered in the drug raid before slinging shit.

Just to be clear, O'Conner isn't an employee of the Police, he's the president of the Police Association which is like a Police union. He seems to be well liked amongst the front line cops as he has the balls to say what need saying.

I think his goal is to get Police armed more for their own safety, and he does that by pointing out how prolific firearms are amongst the criminal fraternity.

Imagine trying to explain to a Health and Safety officer why NZ Police aren't allowed to carry firearms to most violent jobs.

We don't have a gun problem we have a gang problem ban the gangs and most of this crap will disappear for some strange reason the Police and politicians don't want to do this.

Banning gangs is very difficult as the definition of a gang would probably include groups like Scouts, Rotary and Deerstalkers.
