About LinkBacksJust to be clear, O'Conner isn't an employee of the Police, he's the president of the Police Association which is like a Police union. He seems to be well liked amongst the front line cops as he has the balls to say what need saying.
I think his goal is to get Police armed more for their own safety, and he does that by pointing out how prolific firearms are amongst the criminal fraternity.
Imagine trying to explain to a Health and Safety officer why NZ Police aren't allowed to carry firearms to most violent jobs.
