Has anyone come across one of these shooters?
Asides from the price tag they look pretty slick.
I imagine a 280ai would be a pretty mint all round nz boom stick

I wouldn’t say no to a standard 2.0 and yes the 280AI would certainly get the job done
Never seen but definitely coveted :psychotic:
Are weatherbys not a thing in NZ?
Chloe at GC said they could probably get one on special order but it would take quite a while and I’d imagine wouldn’t be cheap.
Brian Call Gritty has used them a bit inhis videos. Started with the 6.5RPM for use on bear, ow use it the 338 rpm(?) with short barrel on moose etc. He really likes them for light weight
Is Steeve wholesale not the current importing agent for weatherby?
There is a shipment of kimber in 280ai that arrived in the country, if that can be an option for you.
This was who I was told to contact by weatherby USA when I enquired about getting weatherby products in NZ, sadly they have pretty much given up trying to get any weatherby products it seems. At least that's the impression I got when I spoke to the owner.

I tried getting one in 6.5rpm and was told to go through tasco in aussy after a few emails its basically not possible unless you have an unlimited budget
I suppose it is like the top Bergara premier models made in USA. Not for us.
The importer of bergara ( nz Asia ) might note have all the caliber options in the premier range, but they definitely did import some , as I had a chance to work on a few of them.
They have just released a Remington footprint action as well, which it looks like they will sell as an action only. Interesting to see if they make it this far
@Friwi
I should have been more specific, they have some premier models such as the Mountain 2.0 (which has limited caliber options as you say) but some of the other higher end premier models they are not authorised to such as the Bergara Premier Canyon and Premier Approach. Stainless high spec rifles that would have a market here.
NZAsia is trying to get them but they have to source their rifles from Bergara Europe vs Bergara USA where a lot of the higher end stainless Premier rifles are made...which is not something they can do...at the moment. Hopefully this will change.
@Friwi did you do the work on JE Wilds' Premier Mountain 2.0 carbon rifle?
I've seen it on YouTube on his channel with one of your suppressors on it. Seems to have much less recoil than I thought such a lightweight 300wm would have. Did you get a chance to shoot it ?
@Kelton appreciate that and agree, dpt mk2 tames my 308 xbolt (2.7kg /5lb 15oz bare) with lightweight rings and a little z6i 1-6 to a very comfortable recoil level....but a 300 wm is a lot more power/recoil than a 308 in a mountain 2.0 that is only a little bit heavier at 6.2 - 6.4lb. Just surprises me it looks so light recoiling in the JE Wilds videos.
Interesting. I saw your SAUM when you posted up a pic if it looking to swap your March scope. A real beauty but I did wonder about the recoil as it looked light.
I'd like to buy a lightish 6 -7lb bare rifle magnum in 7mm remmag or 300wm and run a magnum dpt with VX5 but was a bit unsure what such a light rifle would recoil like.
I do not think I did a rifle directly for je wild, but the importer might have sent it to us to do, and me not knowing it was for him.
I have suppressed several of those mountain carbon stock rifles over the last few years.
