I'm not sure if he is still doing scopes or not, my father in law helps him out from time to time doing speedo repairs
Anymore info on this guy in upper hutt who fixes scopes? I have an older weaver that I brought 2nd hand and is having issues with the paralex adjustment and dial up
The guy is half embalmed...would definitely be pushing into his 90's by now.
He seems to have lost enthusiasm/motivation with scope repairs but still loves his motorbikes.
He might be worth a call, but wasn't interested in fixing my scope when I contacted him.

A good job and a good wife has been the ruin of many a good hunter.
They have contacted Bushnell for me, waiting to hear back. I will chase them up later this week if no news.
Any luck getting the weaver repaired, been thinking about pulling mine apart myself
@LMcNab
Any updates?

There used to be a gent in Auckland that repaired optical gear, but I doubt he is still in the business. I feel that with the issues sending the things away that there is an opening in NZ in this line of work.
I have dodgied it up in the past with a fogged scope by sealing it into a bag with rice and dessicant and vac packing it for a while then setting up a purge bag arrangement attached to an argon cylinder (welding shield gas). Vac purging the bag with the bits in it, then filling the bag with argon and reassembling the scope. Worked but you are relying on the seals being good etc which is where the dodgy part comes in. If a seal component is dodgy the thing will fog again fairly quickly.
Weaver Scopes don't exist anymore guys....
The warranty's are only for the original owner etc.
