    Wet Rangefinder

Hey guys I managed to get my rangefinder wet last night. Any ideas how to dry the condensation on the lens?

At the moment it is on the window sill.

Ziplock bag and those little silica gel beads, the ones you shouldn't eat. If they've been out for any length of time put them in a hot >100deg c oven for 30 minutes to dry them out.
Alternately that damprid stuff in a pot from mitre 10 in a Tupperware container will suck the moisture out of anything, just don't get the stuff on any metalwork or rust rust rust.

Try not to use electronics when they have water in them as this can cause more damage by shorting the circuits.

Best thing to do is immediately remove the batteries without turning it on and put it in a bag or uncooked rice or silica desiccant.

Put the bag in the hot water cupboard and forget about it for several days.

    Cheers

Thanks all for advice. The silcon gel that was in my bucket of bullets seems to be working in the snap locked bag. And my headlamp has dried out too. Can turn it off now. I'm putting a small rubbish bag in my day pack now.
