Thread: What to buy to replace my .223 Semi

    I managed to pick up a Ruger American 7.62x39 as a replacement for my Mini30, Miss the Mini30 but it is what it is. Held onto my magazines when I passed in my 30 so have 5 & 10 rd mags for the American. Shoots more accurately than my 30, Ak`s or SKS`s ever did. As the 223 version takes AR mags that's a possibility.
    The Americans bolt could be smoother and it has jammed on me a couple of times for no apparent reason while loading, apart from that it seems fine. GC as I understand got 25 in their last shipment and all were sold in 2 days including the one I bought. The retailers must be the only ones winning from this Confiscation.

    Yes I have also heard rumors that messers Nash / Adern with the assistance of the NZ Police have single handedly been the best sales people the sports stores have never employed!!

    Just been looking at the Americans, I would have brought a HMR14 Begerra in .223 but they don't make one

    But they make one in 22 250 with a 1-9 twist which maybe a starter @mikee

    Or just a marlin in 30 30, shot many wallabies with one of them years ago plenty of older jm ones about

    going to use the 357mag for for the "driven wallys" and my tcu for the night shoots and make do with internal mag until I see what new things are imported
