Is that a new brand of under garments?

Those stocks with the really fat palmswell are more of a prone shooting thing, I don't have meat plates for hands so I struggle with them for a decent repeatable grip unless I'm lying down. Not sure what that says other than they don't really work for me in any other position!
So is that an actual factory carbon tikka? Can't quite work out from the add where it says it's a factory tikka carbon barrel - I doubt it would be worthwhile machining up a hammer forged barrel to carbon wrap it? I can't find anything online about Tikka putting out their own carbons though...
Regardless of factory warranty your still covered by the consumer guarantee's act if its a dud.
probably have better luck with gc then hre if there is an issue and these are what 2k cheaper?
They're factory Tikka barrels that we've got turned down and wrapped in New Zealand. They shoot fine from what I've seen. Though personally I don't like the stocks really at all. They're also NZ made I believe but I think the outfit that made them is no longer around.
nothing wrong with tikka if you want a light workhorse I cant see the benifit of spending big money on them, plenty of sakos on trademe for less than what they are asking including a pretty nice 308 s20

kimbers pop up all the time and dont tend to sell, patience is the key. Id have more if I had more disposable income but Iv passed on at least 5 montanas under 2k this year alone
the other thing is theres a lot of eyes here looking if you have got in mind what you want just make it known and someone will give you a quiet PM clueing you into where one is
sorry MB I must have read that wrong twice. I could have sworn it said north island when I read it.
Thanks for pointing out ppl live up there. I see you have an uncanny grasp of the obvious. Must come in handy.
I was just chatting to someone at work who has a nice herd of sika on her private forestry block. Location top secret, she wouldn't even tell me which coast it was on! Deer that make a viable quarry for the average Joe hunting on public land? No, better learn to like goat meat if you live up here.
Its who you know up there for sure, I do know of wild reds that a mate hunts often
plenty of pigs, even goats are hard to get access to these days
It a shame it didn’t have a 1:8 twist barrel so you can run more of a variety of projectiles.
Could get a really nice Ruger No/1 in .303 for that money and still have change (just sayin').
Personally think exposed carbon weave is feckin ugly, you can save a lot of weight by having the right action, barrel contour and a good quality fiberglass stock.
Seems like the above rifle is put together just for the 'carbon fetishists'.
My Rem M7 SS KS (Mcm stock) 7mm08 weights nothing, TT Special trigger, holds 5+1 rounds, DPT can (no SS baffle) 20MOA rail on with Leupold Mk4 3.5-10x40.
Whole setup cost just over £1.6k to put together (rifle was £400, a real steal but needed to buy a donor M7 to replace the bolt... which thankfully only cost £125!) mostly due to the rail and trigger being a bitch to source (UK importers are idiots who think the M7 and 700 are the same thing :ORLY: :psychotic: )
Might have gotten super lucky with the 2nd hand rifle coming with such a nice stock, but a little bit of 2nd hand searching will get you a much nicer rifle than buying something new from a dealer.
They are the blue chip of optics at the moment.
Canadian made (by the Tenebraex fellers) so must be choice... https://armament.com/shop/tangent-theta/
Well, the thread has been entertaining. Let's play a simple game. Recommend a good quality, brand new .308 bolt action rifle that weighs under 2.5kg for less than $3.5k that is actually available for purchase in NZ.
Depending how you feel about it a strata or t3x light in a Hi-tec stock docked to 16" would come very close to if not reach those expectations, you would have to cut the barrel short into the fluting but that is certainly not an issue have owned a few rifles done this way certainly hasn't effected accuracy in a negative way.....I happen to know where a Hi-tec stock is sitting ready to go at a store, could probably talk to the owner about a package if you like ?
Look at the new Tikka Bush Hunter - NZ specific run of only 400 units. All pre sold to stores.
16” Barrel
Fluted
Threaded
Over sized bolt know
Standard stock. Can buy with a Suppressor, rings and 2.5-10 scopes for $2699.
Will let you know later in the week. Flying north to see them as we speak.
a 308 howa in an alpine stock or carbon fiber would be a winner as well
The Kimber hunter would be a good option though I’m not sure about availability in .308 iv seen 7-08 and 6.5 creed though . And a few montanas are popping up well priced on trademe lately a begara and a carbon stock would be that sort of money aswell id have thought I’m unsure on their finished weight .
Or a rem model 7 would be another goodie
I have a Kimber hunter in .308. Cut to 16" with a DPT suppressor. They do come up every so often but the 6.5 and 7mm08 do seem more common for some reason.
I quite like it now after taking a bit of time to get used to the action (controlled round feed vs push feed of all my other rifles) and sorting out a issue with the mag.
