    What the hell?

Out on the range this afternoon zeroing for he roar with the Magnus 2.4-16x56 .

First couple of long range shots went really well. Changed positon 180* shot again, all good. Let the barrel cool for 3-4 mins had look through the scope an noticed it wasn't clear.
A flare appeared near the reticle clouding the image.
    Then I saw this ?
20C, slightly overcast, scope has been in its Leica neoprene protector.

While nothing is perfect, for the $$$ That's just piss poor & whats with all the shit on the outside ring ?

Not to sound like a scope Nazi, but have looked through a couple of Leica's ( wasn't that impressed ) & have heard some horror stories, one where there was even bubbles in the glass

PS- Jackwire has had a good run with his Leica scopes though.

Bit of a worry alright, you would hope by paying big dollars you would avoid these problems but it isn't always the case, hope you can sort it soon.

Bit of burning carbon buildup from another rifle (or even yours) landed on it? It does almost look like a burn?

That's looks like rust / oxidation , you can even see it tracking under the surface. Gun bags, neoprene socks and any kind of cover will gather or harbor moisture in the right conditions.
