what kind of scope mount is this lee enfield drilled for?

These holes are on the side of the action, are they for a scope mount and if so, are they easy to find?Name: 20230827_181131.jpg

The fact that the holes seem to be offset from one another and in unusual locations suggest that they once fitted a home-made mount, and may have been positioned particular to that one and only mount, or drilled in seemingly at random, unfortunately. The spacing and alignment do not look like any side mount I have ever seen.
If you are looking to hide them, perhaps it is an option to fit an entirely different side mount which covers those holes so you can’t see them? Options are limited when fixing bubba’s handiwork :/

    Yeah, I'm unsure myself.
I have seen the odd side mount in the past on rifles at gun shows but never really took much notice on how it was fitted.
Being a curved surface, I had assumed it was some sort of factory made mount.

Tig weld them up is an option, the other is a light chamfer and hot-rivet a steel cylinder in and grind each side flush. That's if you want the holes filled in...

It could be for a AUSINEI base mount. You could try these guys.
