At a guess, straight up sporterised milsurp Mauser, VZ24

A sportered one is worth fuck all. Get a cheap howa I reckon.

Hold out for a ZKK Brno, they are the business, or just get a new Howa/Vanguard
It's a ZKK I'm after I think, used to have a BRNO .223 made in the 70s and it was great, wasn't sure if this was same model/era. Howa/Vanguard it is then.Quote:

Early ZKK were great, pre 72 from memory with the pop up peep sight, but the ZG47 or Model 21 were the class acts. Have we found out what the featured one is yet? I will look at any BRNO actions at reasonable price's for sporter builds.
Hard to tell from the pic but it is likely to be a VZ33 , which is the small ring version of the 98 and a desirable starting point for a custom sporter , a lot came into NZ in the late 60's and most were "sporterised"
If you can't hang on for a Brno, this might not be abad bet, no pic yet but if its mint it might be a steal?
