    what scope.

Got a new rifle 270 with silencer but no scope. Mate has given me 3-9 ×32 or i have the old 4x40 off my old 303 whats better. Do some long range around 100-200 but mostly general bust hunting. Any advice?

If thsey are your two choices I'd use the one with the more well know brand name untill you can save for another.
Keep an eye on the for sale section here so good deals come up every now and then
other wise if money is a bit tight, continue with one of the above and save a bit for something like a Redfield. Burris. Leupold Vx1, Bushell Elite. Weaver Etc
Any of them should serve you well with a decent warrenty incase .

I'd probably go with the 4 power at present and save up. Funny thing with vari power scopes is that most people keep them on a single setting. At the ranges and type of terrain you're talking I think a wide field of view is more important than high magnification.
