What scope to buy? Can’t decide

Hi guys, looking at a Leupold VX5HD 3-18x44 CDS ZL2 Firedot or a Leica Amplus 2.5-15x50i

Will be going on a 308, which would you guys choose?

Leupold...I think, I'll be upgrading the Pulsar NV this year. my preference is a V6HD cds firedot zl2 or a good thermal. I've .yet to read through Tahr's thread re Hikmicro & Arken gear yet

Wow, thanks guys. I’ve only ever run leupolds so looks like I’ll keep it that way. Is the VX6 worth the extra 800-1k over the vx5?

How far are you going to be shooting realistically? Mate has a VX3HD. Running 110gr TSX. Good night nurse for all animals. It is impressive to watch. Right hand gun which he shoots left handed. 2C.

This is absolutely true but that may change..................................as I believe distributor is possibly changing after many years

My VX3 doesn’t hold me back in ways that the VX6 wouldn’t, the only practical difference I really notice is the weight.

Disclaimer to the above is that they are different scopes on different rifles and I haven’t done the Pepsi/Coke challenge to compare them, it’s a bit of an informed guess.

It's confirmed but it's not necessarily changing for the worse. There has been a weird relationship here in NZ where one distributor has been buying the scopes from an Aussie distributor and that own Aussie company's NZ offshoot hasn't been able to sell the scopes here. Now it's coming in house. I'm tentatively optimistic.

Leupold have a good warranty, and they need it. That’s true.

Also run a Leupold VX3HD on my 308. Goes mean and only in the 2.5-8 but might not be shooting the distance you intend too. Found the 5HD to be a bit bulkier.
