Thread: What size Allen key for CDS turret????

I recently sold my VX6 and apparently the Allen key is not in the box. Understandably, the purchaser wants it.

I had a look on my bench and quickly found several keys all of different sizes. I'm fucked if I know which is the right one?

Can someone who has one have a quick measure and please let me know? I'm assuming it's the .50 but I want to be certain.

None of mine have come with the key?
Its bloody small, I have one in my range finder case I could measure.

If you could Cam, I would appreciate it. I'm going to take Duncan up on his kind offer but it would still be good to know for future reference.

I think it is 1/20" SAE or 0.050.

Leupold turret hex key size?

The size for the CDS turret is 0.050

I just double checked for you. My CDS never came withan allen key, I had to get one from my local engineer supplies store. Only a couple of bucks for a good quality one.

Yep absolutely can confirm that's the size for my vx3 3-9 CDS - and my key did come in my box ... Guess I was lucky.

Did you get the free custom turret built for you out of the states? I'm still deciding on my final go to cartridge for my 7 rem mag. Probably will end up with a couple knowing me and then still just use the default it came with...

I had a standard MOA elevation turret installed last year. I got my VX3 LR before they started coming from the factory standard with them.

hay mate I had this same problem only this week and ferk if I could find the right key from the shop but in the end it turns out to be a 1mm key to get it going tried 1/8key but to small
