Nice animal - good group too.
    @Dorkus
Although I have a 308 target rifle (13" twist) - yet to start range time - and an ex-Army Parker Hale 308, 10" twist (need to check what version it is when I get it), I'd expect, prior to load development, that both should at least shoot 1" groups at 100yds.
The PH would be about 4.5-5 kg, but my experience is with these heavier rifles.
It seems to me that shooting technique could make quite a change on your rig.
By the way - nothing wrong with the calibre you've got.

No offence, but I don't think I've seen an uglier rifle.

Each to their own I suppose

My two cents... I've really struggled to find accuracy from any of a wide range of factory ammo in 7-08.
Yet when I owned .308 in my twenties, completely different story.
I do wonder if all factory ammo has been dialled back with additional safety margin in COAL in line with SAAMI in recent years, as they all fear being sued if something goes wrong in any of the scores of mainstream rifle manufacturers.
Whatever the reason, I was blown away by the difference between my best factory load target shooting and my first reloaded targets. Fed Fusion was probably the most accurate in my 7-08 at around 1.2" groups. First reloaded Nosler Accubonds 7.1mm!
My advice to anyone seeking accuracy (as opposed to adequate hunting shots), novice or experienced shooters...don't waste much time with factory ammo getting your new kit on to paper, just get onto reloads asap.

I don't know how you say something like that without causing offence?

Yeah fair enough, I 'shot from the hip' with that comment and should have thought about it a little more. Sorry for any offence caused @Dorkus

I have the same issues with my kimber. Check your twist rate. Make sure it's stabilizing the projectiles. Kimber have a habit of using shit twist rates.

Yip reload straight up bro, I only ever use factory if its lying around to get on paper after having scope off etc.

To me there is no point trying to hold scope down etc. as you will never shoot that way with its intended use. You need to find a load you can shoot offhand or off a pack and hit shit imo. So once on paper with factory, load some up

Do you not apply downward pressure to the top of the scope with your left hand when taking a standing shot at 20m?

    Lesson 1:
Step 1 - Put crosshairs on target, squeeze trigger.
    Step 2 - Reload, repeat step 1

more than one thread of this same nature doing the rounds at moment... common theme is 7mm/08-----short barrel----light rifle----superpreformance ammo
other chap tried remcoreloct and groups tightened up considerably
super light rifle and superhot load will mean your forend hold and technique will have to be spot on.

Ive got a few recipes for 7/08 in my 18" barrel. Get in touch when you have your gear if you want. The last Kimber I loaded for (not mine) liked 120 grn best. In the mean time see if you can source some CFE223 powder - it works well with 140 and 120 and you will get the best velocities from your pug barrel.

Didnt Kimber have a few problems with some of their 7mm08's and 260's with poor accuracy. 243 and 308's were fine.

I have a 15" 708 in a mod 7, shoots 120 NBT's at 2900 around an inch with cfe223. Not super accuracy, but enough for 300 odd yards
