Whats more important- a rifle to be practical or fun ?

Lately Ive been thinking about a certain new rifle & deciding Werther it's worth buying or not, now this got me thinking about the other rifles in my collection & just how practical they are for what I need & use em for or do I like em because they're fun to shoot & I enjoy carrying em

I think the answer for me is, If I don't think it's cool then why have it
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

If everyone was practical then there would only be one caliber in NZ.

    308??

I don't think so! I bought an 8 gun safe; though for some strange reason the door is getting hard to shut with only 11 in there. Thankfully one is stored off site, think 12 would be too, too much. Though I do agree on the calibre for one centrefire.

Sure. It is practical to have lots of spare ammo for every gun you have fun with.

I have my practical gun, a beat up, cut down .303 that lives in the truck and gets knocked about. Then I have my toys that I take hunting and to the range etc

Some guns are tools, some are toys, and some are art

One practical rifle that should be sighted in with plenty of ammo lying round. The rest for fun.

"need" is mostly a lie to justify the "want".
While practicle can be fun its generally the exception. Pratctilcle for me would have been a lot closer to a T3 in 7mmrem mag than an imported 280ai at 3x the cost and a six month wait but...........
