Ahhh....fucken boohoo I brought a Rem 700 or Ruger Mk 149 or some piece of shit........don't be haters bitchs............Tikka's are boring...............accuracy ain't ..................suck it.
@Dorkus heres your chance to sell yours.
All I payed for mine.....its all a non finlight is worth imo, sold my 85 for very similar money.
For the record, An 85 is a improvement on a 75....dont idolise a 75 and 85 is better.
T3 on the other hand, good rifle for the money.,not my cup of tea and not the value they used to be.
As for the dreamers on trade me....its the boyracer generation, they assume they can buy a nice tidy cefero for 3 grand, turbo it,illegally lower it,mercilicly rape the drivetrain and dent every panel on it showing off their drift prowess and sell it for 13grand......and dumb fucks buy em.
dont be a dumb fuck and buy a thrashed t3 for more than retail of a new one.
a 2nd hand t3 light with standard alloy rings and standard plastic stock is worth about $800 in very good nick 2nd hand
the ones you see for 14 or 1500 are normally suppressed for a start normally come with a decent optic
possibly restocked or fluted etcetc
but certainly not standard
my tikka is far from standard probably owes me 3k all up but I bult this rifle for me and wont be selling it so what its worth doesn't matter in a way
the org rifle was brought maybe 8-10 years ago from reloaders for $1000 2nd hand in 308
on its 3rd barrel now went from 308 to 6mmrem then to 260
lol I have a 308 590 that I have just put a 308 trg barrel on that I'm keen to use on steel and I have my trusty 6.5x55 that's on its 3rd barrel with its gay camo stock that I actually like now.
my middle boy has a t3 6.5x55 lh with fluted bolt and barrel. my oldest has a shortened t3 in 7/08 that I got an exceptional deal on and my trusty t3 varmint 22-250.
oh and all suppressed!
I am a berreta slut as also have my trg and 85 in 3006 as well.
my 6.5 would have been one of the first in the area and now has quite a following as they keep doing very well in our comps over here.
the 6.5s seem to punch above their weight using the 140 amax and now I'm using the eldx which work well on game and targets.
a good combination when suppressed with high bc projectiles for the recoil shy for longer range shooting.
the figures do the talking as far as that goes.
if the 6.5 can stabilise the new 147g hornady it will up the anti again.
these are out of the box shooters that work well.
I talked to 2 blokes yesterday that are of to giles to get their own 6.5s so the legend is growing!

The cheap non accustock 10,11,16 stocks suck, they shoot but are IMO a step down in fit and finish to a tikka. Not that the tikkas are uber flash, but its all relative. An accustocked savage, or stainless remmy are around the same price as a tikka anyway, and at least with the tikka you get a guarantee. They are getting up in price but I wonder how much of that is the cost from factory, and how much is it beretta reaming us for a few bolt on improvements.
I like the 10 series savages and will own another one at some point but personally I feel the tikkas are a better rifle overall.
I paid $900 for mine virtually brand new and with an ok scope
They do have an accuracy guarantee for the Tikka but have you actually looked at the fine print? I did and it said the guarantee was that it would shoot their factory ammo at their factory range. One of those "not worth the paper it's written on" guarantees, so effectively the same as everyone else. But as stated, everything else in that price bracket that I've come across will shoot to the same accuracy as the guarantee anyway.
Take your pick from whatever is available that fits you and 'floats your boat'.
Lol who cares what the fine print says, tikka t3s shoot hand loads 1/2" or better I've owned a truck load of them and they all do the same.
Personal taste is a funny thing - using a T3 back to back with one of my Savages left me wondering why anyone would prefer the T3 at the same price, let alone a few hundred more. Action feel, trigger, safety, accuracy were all wins to the Savage. T3 was lighter to carry though as I was comparing with a wood stocked Savage 14.
I guess the T3 stock is a bit better finished cosmetically than the basic synthetic Savage stocks, but it still feels plastic and there is no advantage in function unless its a personal fit issue.
See, I was the complete opposite!
Tikka keep producing accurate rifles and people keep buying them second hand for too much money... I guess it's only worth what people will pay.
I think rifle owners are all a bit emo and only think what they own can shoot or is worth any money. The only relevant post in this thread was mine calling maca old :P
Nah. I'm a tight wad and I only buy if they're cheap. Then I like to out shoot someone that has spent wads of dosh. Mind you I have been spending a bit on optics lately, well at least a step up from my usual $300-$400 bracket. As I've said, there are many brands that shoot just as well and just as reliably as the Tikka T3.
Just remember, @Gibo fired and saw feathers dust off a magpie at 1335metres at the Toby shoot. He can verify this.
I think they are worth so much second hand because they are so rare and hard to come by..... :wtfsmilie:
Oh, and because the sellers need the cash to put towards a real Sako... :P
I must admit, after owning a Tikka, I want a Sako.
Funny though, after owning 2 Savage rifles, and one was a new Predator Hunter Max 1 in .223, the Tikka just feels better quality. I had all sorts of issues getting both my Savage's to feed reliably and the trigger on the Predator was very fussy about trigger pull.
They were both stupid accurate though and if it weren't for the unreliable feeding, I would still have them.
a few tikka haters on here :wtfsmilie: its up to the market to decide what they sell for. that goes for any think. Look at the price off hunting dogs now. As for the cheap alloy rings none of the hundreds of deer i have shot have complain about them :P
I bet that when the T years comes around, a lot of bitches will be named Tikka :-)
That's how Gun City justify their prices, doesn't mean the rest of us won't laugh at the people who do pay it :P
But seriously, who cares whether your deer rifle shoots 2 MOA or 0.2 MOA, either way that's good enough for deer. My gripes with Tikka's are mainly arbitrary, but god help you if you have to fork out for a spare mag, or need a replacement stock
Mags are about $100 second hand or $150 new, stocks can be bought in as new condition for $80. Hardly seems expensive
Second hand, fair enough, but the price of a new stock from the importer is so high you'd be tempted to buy another whole rifle. Which adds to the feeling that Tikka minimise production costs wherever possible, and manufacturing extra stocks is a big hassle for them. At least with Remington/Savage you have aftermarket triggers and stocks everywhere
