where to buy Jewell HVR trigger for REM700 for best price

time for a trigger upgrade for my Rem700 heavy barrel varmint rifle . . . the HVR looks like the goods, exspensive but i should never need to upgrade again.

any advice on best place to source one at the best price would be appreciated

definitely consider one, writeups are very good, second choice is a Timney with a straight trigger, adjustable shoe, look about the same price . . but leaning towards the Jewell to future proof any direction my shooting may take me later. my usual practice is to buy things in upward steps of quality untill i eventually end up with good gear, this time i would like to cut out the time/cash wasting part and go straight to the endgame . . the Jewell HVR should be it.

    cheers R

At current exchange rate right around $525 inc gst

At $100 cheaper the Calvin Elite is defiantly worth a look.

I have found them more reliable on Rem 700 actions.

The trigger shoe on the Jewel isn't to everyones liking.

I got my first Jewell approximately 20 years ago, bought at a time when Jewell was THE trigger. I bought mine direct from one of Arnold Jewell’s sons. Basically rang them, discussed spring configurations, gave CC details, trigger on the way – mmm times have changed.

Nowadays I would be considering some of the alternatives in particular maybe a Bix’n Andy for the 700. Nothing wrong with the Jewell just there are other high quality options now available out there. Depends on the size of your wallet.

Have a look at www.BulletCentral.com they will supply triggers internationally.

Quite interested in a Timney myself. Have you got an Ebay link?
A quick look and I couldn't see any that would ship direct to NZ - not really surprised.

As it's a firearms component & over $100 USD technically they aren't supposed to export it without an export permit, this includes brass & projectiles.

Yes aware of that. Done my share of buying over 100 bucks (brass projectiles and barrels) and going thru all the paperwork. Elite Ebay Poster must have got trigger via a back door, mate in USA, in which case it is of not much use to the OP unless he has a mate willing to risk the same.

Strange thing was that Timney were prepared to ship to NZ up until about 2 years ago. Mate bought a Ruger trigger direct from them. No doubt they have well and truly realized the shite they could face.

    Does the 100 include frieght?

Iv got two Calvin's, I like them. The standard timney didn't seem to like being at the bottom of its adjustment.
    Never used a jewel.
