“Where is my dream scope?”

It’s in a box that says “Leupold VX-6HD 2-12x42mm CDS Firedot Duplex”.

There’s a couple of things that don’t fit your criteria like the cds dial and 30mm tube. But they can be mounted nice and low and are about the same size as some of the bulkier 3-9x40s. I doubt if you would be disappointed with one

Had one of those on .308 and sold it. Too heavy and bulky.

Yeah if you were purely a bush hunter you wouldn’t choose one. But they are an inch shorter than a 3-15 or 3-18 and and don’t have the Hubble-like bulkiness of a 50 or 56mm objective. I ran a 2-7x33 for many years but the small eye box and lack of top end magnification pissed me off in the end; the 2-12 is a better all rounder for the type of hunting I do

Just a Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x42 CDS. Not quite as good optically and a smaller eye box but much lighter and good enough.

Nice. Just bought one of these for my 243, naybe put one on my rem mag too. Prib plenty of scope put to 500
