GP Optics do the Spectra 1.5-9 x 32i
    https://gp-optics.com/product/spectra-6x-15-9x32i/
Still 30mm the but the other boxes are ticked.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Some interesting suggestions from all so far, and appreciated.
Now; I do have a vx5hd 2-10*42 firedot and also a vxr 3-9 patrol but cannot get either of them as low as the vx3 2.5-8*36 ; well not with the variety of 30mm rings I have tried so far at least. I will do some very careful measurements of bolt lever clearance tomorrow because while a 30mm tube ( none or small objective end diameter) would not be a problem with most 1-8x scopes, the ocular / eyepiece will be. From the bits I've looked at tonight, even the new vx freedom 3-9*42 illume might be a contender with small obj and 41mm 1.63" ocular bell ! Anyhoo I will do measurement and also check out the suggestions made so far. The leupold ar mod1 illum tmr and 1" tube would be ideal but they don't make them any more.

I understand, the 2.5-8x VX3i is what I have on my hunting rifle, was in extra low talleys on the SAUM now in Low Talleys on the Kimber
the VX6HD I brought originally has ended up on the Gong Guns. VX3i is light, simple and just plain works

After using a fire dot I would feel naked without it.

I have also seen a nice Delta scope but can't find price of NZ agent. Also discovered Weaver are now out of the scope business.

They are not too common in NZ yet. NZ Ammo do list some scopes so they could possibly price it up. I've not used one but reviews suggest they are in the alpha glass bracket. I'm guessing that's going to be in the same price range too.

It’s in a box that says “Leupold VX-6HD 2-12x42mm CDS Firedot Duplex”.

There’s a couple of things that don’t fit your criteria like the cds dial and 30mm tube. But they can be mounted nice and low and are about the same size as some of the bulkier 3-9x40s. I doubt if you would be disappointed with one
Had one of those on .308 and sold it. Too heavy and bulky.

I've measured my bolt - eyebox clearances and also bbl - objective bell clearances . No way can I achieve lower mounting unless I go 30-32 mm objective diameter. However, the eyebox clearances are not a problem and I could mount lower even with 45mm.

If you mount too low then your will see the end of your barrel/suppresser in your site picture which I find really annoying. Something to consider.
