@Marty Henry I believe that is true (not sure on how much rebated) but no trouble headspacing/indexing on the mouth, plenty of dangerous animal guns (Soldiers) work on this principle & I have never had one fail, even when I messed around loading 180-200gr bullets in my 30 Carbine, thousands of 9mm, hundreds of .380 & .45 ACP had more trouble with necks & shoulders on normal rounds .
A lot of stuff on the nett/forums is Parroted Bullshit & not from people who have done it !
I think the .44Mag with subs would still beat the 300BLK by fair margin but I have not used it myself, I have shot hundreds of deer with the 223Rem from the ground & air, we also loss some of these as do others because I have shot many carrying old .223 slugs, also lots of deer, pigs, warthogs & antelope with .22LR & as you say if all shot in just the right place all die the same.
On that my friend shot a Eland Bull 4 times between the eyes to no effect with a .22LR (other than blowing my proxide to hell with the slugs in the bone) so there is a point where it just will not work .
Now the 45/70 I have shot from Cats, Rabbits to Buffalo, Bantang, full & Subs !
Did get smashed by Bantang Bull when being over confident with the subsonic 500gr lol !
Now I have the 510WSM all bets are off !
