Lets see 'em. I just bought an AK-103 style Saiga on impulse
I have a 103 I bought before the is it A-Cat or is it E-Cat free standing pistol grip sarga. It was A-Cat when I got it but now E-Cat with Romianian pistol grip , 20 & 30 mags and a Chinese AK folding stock. Its quite a cool gun to waste ammo with and all up Cost around $900 new.
How much did you pay for a Saiga AK103?
I have this one Im trying to sell. It has like 3 to 400 bucks worth of ammo with it.
Awesome ammo waster and the tracer rounds look so cool at night time.

Would like to get $1000.00 or $1100.00 for it with all the ammo.
See buy sell trade section
The Saiga AK-103 was $700 New on Trademe buy now. The Pistol grip was $5 U.S , Magazines $20 U.S each and the folding stock was about $100, steel Chinese and came in as stocks for Paintball guns.Bought off Trademe. Took 15 minutes with an angle grinder and drill to fit it back to a AK47.
The Saiga needed a feed ramp and some tampering to accept and feed from the AK47 mags reliably.
All up about one -two hours in the shed with a file and drill. Then off to the Station to ask please Sir can I have this on My E-Cat???.
Good work Tas, got a pic?

Well thats it !!
Choice. I'd love to have the AK100 series side folder
Only semi I have is the Molot Vepr in .308Win, 20" barrel.
UGLY Duckling but lots of fun
Originally an old saiga hunter .223 sitting in the safe not being used so turned it into a winter project . It now uses AR15 mags and shoots realy well , 20" barrel and same overall length as an 11" barreled AR15

Mmmm Valmets are mint. AFAIK the Saiga .308's shoot ok for what they are.
56S

For reasons I like the 56S with a folding bayonet. Looks badass. Gives them that VC vibe.
So who wants to take me to the range?? Beer on me afterwards for successful applicants :D
They don't let us untrustworthy civvies own AK's or their variant (except for Valmets I might add) in Canada, but we have CZ858's and VZ58's coming out of the woodwork. Go figure eh?
The rifle pictured isn't mine but it gives you an idea of what $800ish buys in Canuckistan.
A 30rd mag pinned to 5/10?
safety can't be easy to use quickly
would be easy enough to fit a trigger safety like on a SKS if it worried you
Very easy project , hardest part if you dont have a mill is getting someone to make the trigger guard and stock . you can get the handguard of trademe and bolt it on mill a slot for the trigger which is the original trigger that I removed .
You would have to move the grip forward if you want to use 30round mags or it will hit the grip . I converted the rifle to use AR mags as they are cheaper and I have them for my ARs anyway . I added an extra spring for the trigger return but the trigger pull is the same as before the conversion .
Later on I will go with A 1-4 scope on it and make another safety but as I said I do enjoy shooting it and happy with how it turned out .
The 30s are pinned to 5 sadly but you can buy adapters that accept XCR 7.62 mags, which have been imported as pistol mags that allow for a 10 round capacity. These rifles also come in 5.56 and the same adapter (but for AR mags) also allows for a 10 round capacity using AR pistol mags.
