Why is Swarovski Range so expensive?

Why is it that the 10x42 Range binos are near double the price of the 10x42 WB binos when all you get is range finding ability?

because it can......if they can charge that price..and folks will pay it...they make lots of money and customer thinks they getting really good stuff cause it cost so much

same as sako Leica Kahles all expensive stuff seriously over priced but ya get what ya pay for I guess

Aside from the rangefinder in it is the glass any better than the 10x42 el WB?

I think the new model has the Tracking assistant? Before that they werent as "pricey". I have some pre TA ones, they are pretty awesome. I would hesitate on spending the new version money to get some, they are a great pair of binos. The rangefinding is also so quick and usefull, especially if something is say 800 yards away, range a closer rock object and know where you have to get to to be in range.

The tracking assistant is a waste of time, you need to use your phone and fuck around.

If I was doing it again I wouldn't buy the ranging EL i would go back to seperate bino and a good rangefinder.
My EL rangefinder is bloody hopeless on many trips it gets out preformed by cheaper options.
And now Swarovski doesn't carry stock in NZ which is a backward step for the brand.
There service seems to have slipped as I sent a scope away in January and it's only just on its way back now.

I have 10x42 el wb's and a Leica 2700 rangefinder which does the trick very well. I would like to eliminate any extra steps to get a successful hit on the target faster. It does sound like it's not worth the extra coin for what could be a hit & miss scenario. Go with what what works
