just been doing some research as to weather a Remington 700 or 7 barrel would fit my t3 action ive read a few things that say there both 16tpi
but I don't know if I can trust that

Tennon diameter and length is what you want to check, tpi won't make a difference if those are different.

Rem 700 tenon is normally 1 1/16 16tpi and .700 long

Found a couple of references to t3 having .980 tennon.
So in short, without some gunsmithing no I don't think it will fit

if I recall correctly, Greg duley in a NZ hunter article turned down a rem barrel to fit a tikka action......
so will need gunsmithing
Yep definitely different. Rem is 1 1/16" x 20TPI and Tikka is 1" x 20TPI I think. Can fit a Tikka barrel to a Rem with some work, but not vice versa
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more
How do you make 1" go in 1 1/16"?
A Rem would go in a tikka cause you can take off the 1/16"th wouldn't it?
Yeah need to lathe down tenon and re-thread to tikka thread. If there is enough of a knox you could cut off the thread entirely, rechamber and re-thread

Tikka and Remington are 16 TPI . 20 TPI is savage and browning a-bolt I think.
The Remington barrel thread can be recut to go down to the tikka thread.the thread is longer on a tikka. also the chamber on Remington might have to be cut and push forward a little bit.
So yes it can be done, but you need the gunsmith with the lathe , the reamer and gauges and the experience.
Just buy a tikka and be done with it haha
that was plan A if I could sell my rifle but no one wants it and cant afford to buy another I might give it one last go before I commit to plan B as its just gonna set me back another $300 in smith fees
