    Ring SAI/Carvells and they will tell you what they expect to realise for that item. Usually (but not always) their estimate is close. Don't be discouraged by auctions - I see items going for less at auctions than some of the ridiculous prices idiots pay on TardMe for eg. BRNO No 1's being a good example. Auctions are a very much an on the day thing and there can be bargains sometimes. Plus if you want a good piece for a collection sometimes it is a bit of a long haul until you get the one that meets your requirements, unless of course it is something really rare in which case your blood runneth hot and you end up owning something and wondering if you paid far too much.
