    Would you be grumpy........?

Out of interest, would you be grumpy if you bought a new rifle(at a discounted rate) only find out it want manufactured 5 years ago?!

Or is this the norm in the firearms industry?

I guess theres a difference between new model and new (no previous owner). In a rifle no rounds down the pipe is new. So no i wouldnt be that pissed. Maybe at myself for not researching???

Personally i find firearms are like vehicles, 5 yrs is still pretty new, you buy it because it appeals and feels good to you, a slightly older firearm can be "worn" in making it least clunky.... sometimes.
Basically as long as you like it and it does its job i wouldn't worry about it.

If it is the model you want what difference does date of manufacture make?

What rifle is it? Sometimes older is better as production may have moved offshore to cut costs etc. depending on what it is.

Ja, I'd rather have a Marlin that's made in Connecticut (older) than one made in Kentucky for example.

Yeah like has been said a rifle only ages by rounds down the barrel as long as it looked after ( oiled etc ) I wouldnt be bothered.
You know, if you need 100 rounds to kill a deer, maybe hunting isn't your sport.

Interesting feedback guys. There is much more to the story than I am letting on. How would you feel if said rifle had a different twist rate than advertised?

Its all sorted now though. The shop I bought it from happily took it back and sorted everything out promptly(very happy with their service). I picked up a new Tikka 7mm-08 today. Very happy now!

As for the NZ distributors of the returned rifle...........they are douche bags, ha!

I have a fast twist 223 to pick up today. Well at least it better be 1:8 twist.
I'm glad the shop has helped you out @nicks_tricks
Are all nz distributors lazy or what?
