Thread: Xbolt rebarrel?

Maybe more internet rumor than fact, have had barrel's removed from 3 without any drama, two for threading, one to change to a Brux 1:8. Correct tooling is a necessity; like most precision engineering excessive force in place of good technique often leads to disaster.. One well known gunsmith told me he had caused some damage to one when removing the barrel to find the cause being over-length base block attachment screws bottomed out on the barrel tenon. When fitting mounts/bases to x-bolts always check the screw length, Talley's are often over-length on the forward mount, not only has this the potential to cause the problem mentioned above but also to negatively affect accuracy.
