    Youth 22

Options for the smaller humans around 5-10y old ?
Someone posted a pic of one a while back and I even went and looked at the same in a shop but now cannot remember what brand it was or what shop
I think it was 400 bucks.... bit of over time at the mo could maybe stretch that far.

i know someone with a heap of 22 single shots of various ages and conditions. He might part with one cheap (especially since I have just loaned him my SAUM for the weekend)

The problem is their small hands cannot hold the stock properly and reach the trigger and there small heads mean they are hovering above the stock to see threw the scope. chopping ends will not fix either problem.

I would go for the Marlin XT-22 Youth if you were going t spend ~$400.
My young one started when he was 7 years old with a CZ452 scout, and he is small and the single shots were like a toy for him...
Also they will grow out of it very fast, and not much they can do with it, but these ones can be scoped, and basically used until they are well into the teens... even later...

The rascal can be scoped, not that I would, and is not so small that I couldn't use it effectively myself.
I will probably have a look at the marlin cheers but would need to be able to make it single shot.

Surely they will be shooting under your supervision so a mag feed wouldn't be an issue (dad has it is his pocket and loads it 1 round at a time) and maybe an advantage when they get a wee bit bigger?
