    Zeiss v4 4-16x50 or v6 3-18x50

Just about to get the v6 but then found they do a similar scope in the v4 line with similar features....so far all i can see is you give up about 20 minutes of elevation with the v4.

What else would you be getting for the extra $1k for the v6?

2 very different scopes, pretty sure v6 is fluoride coated and made and assembled in Germany. V4 is jap made and assembled. The v4s are bloody good value now in my opinion but there is a reason for the price gap

    Cheers.
After a bit more googling it seems thats pretty much it...country of manufacture, fluoride glass and the v6 has a windage dial.

Ive not looked through the v6, but i have a 6-24 v4 and compared with my 3-18x44 vx6 and. 3.5-18x44 z5 it does start to lack clarity at about the 20x mark. That being said, its a fantastic scope that serves well on the rifle it was bought for

I’ve had a similar mag range V4,V6 and V8 side by side and you can see the difference between them glass wise; especially as the light drops - but the V4 is actually really good

Both good scopes, I used a 3-18 V6 on a review rifle, was a very nice, have played with 4 -16 V4 also & think its a nice good value for money unit, both competing with the Leupy VX5 & 6.

Probably come's down to weather you think that made in the mother land & an extra little bit of zoom range is worth the extra grand.
