Anyone have or have used a zeiss v4 conquest? Specifically the 6-24. From what I gather they are more or less the hd5 with 30mm tube. Really want to know what glass clarity is like at higher mag range.

yep I have two of the 6-24 x 50.
glass is excellent, better in my opinion than the older HD 5 and on par with the even older MC's that were made by Meopta!
Glass is better than Vortex PST GenII 5-25, which is not bad glass for the money.
They have that huge apparent field of view like the old MC, whereas the HD5 has that horrible tunnel view. I've looked at the new V6 and its also got that tunnel view, so wont be getting a V6!
Weight is good at 23 oz, all the other "tactical" type scopes in this range are sitting around 30 oz
The V4 is German glass, assembled in Japan. QA not so good as older ones. On both of mine the zoom and focus dials have a dry patch when rotated where they missed a bit of grease when assembling.
I've got the MOA reticle which is a little thick for my liking.
Cant think of anything else out there with comparable glass for the price.
I have a V4, I got the 44mm model. Wicked scope, dials well and is accurate. Really good range of reticles, I went with ZMOA 2.
