    Zen Ray warranty

I've posted this on the other site as well but wondering if anyone has had to use the Zen Ray warranty?

    Their website quotes:

At Zen-Ray Optics, we stay behind every product we deliver to you. Through our rigorous Q/A process, we hope you never have to use our warranty service. But when you do, we want you to know that we are here, ready to help. If your PRIME HD, ZEN ED3, 2015 ZRS HD Binoculars or ZEN ED2 spotting scope requires service or repair, Zen-Ray will repair or replace it (even if it was your fault) for just $10, plus return shipping and handling.

To initiate warranty service, simply email support@zen-ray.com to request a RMA number.

I have emailed them several times over the last two weeks and yet to receive a response. Anyone else had any experience with returns to Zen Ray?

    Cheers,
    Hayden

I haven't needed to contact them. But I see my ED2 binoculars aren't listed. Hmm, I wonder if they expect you to upgrade everytime thru bring out a new product.
I was going to contact them about getting some covers as I have lost one

My Swaro's just crapped out. On their way back to Austria. Shittest time EVER for my binos to crap out. Grrrrr.

Have a look here as I believe your ED2 are covered. Warranty Information

    Josh
That is some truly unfortunate timing. You don’t hear of many issues with Swaros but I’m sure they will stand by their gear. Just as well they worked on the weekend!

Where did you buy them? I have a feeling that the guy I bought from doesn't have them anymore. Is there even a distributor in nz now?

What a bastard josh. Even your avatar is pissed about it! Have you got a spare? I could send you mine down. I'm not going to be using them for a while. Only mustering to do this week

I know mate. Haven't got decent spares, at this stage I'm hoping to borrow some Swaros off my boss or Zenrays off a mate. Thanks heaps for the offer though mate

Brought them direct from Zen Ray. Thought they were the only distributor?

If I can get them replaced they will become my spare set and I’ll buy something decent. I should know better, buy once cry once as the saying goes.

Zen Ray are a nightmare to deal with. I think the warranty only applies to Americans. Keep complaining and start a few threads talking about it on the american forums. 24 hour campfire is a good one as they are on there. I got mine replaced eventually but it took a year.

We were the NZ rep for Zen Ray. We gave it up as we couldn't compete with Camera Land.

Zen Rays warranty service is the worst in the industry. Even though what they make is excellent value, you take a risk with their warranty.

Disappointing. I wouldn’t have purchased Zen Ray if I had known this nor should I have to sign up and complain about them on overseas forums to get a response.

    An update.

After several more emails to Zen Ray requesting an RMA number and still no response I was about to cut my losses and give up.

Well this morning I got fed up and sent them a rather blunt email which finally prompted a response. I now have an RMA number and a postal address for the return.

No idea if I will ever see them again……..

Hmm interesting. At least you got a response I suppose.
I sure as hell won't be buying a zen ray product again. And won't be suggesting to anyone to buy it either.
