Zero Compromise Optics, anyone got one or looked through one?

    https://www.blaser.co.nz/pages/about...promise-optics

I have seen the write ups on Snipershide and they look pretty good. About the same size and weight class as the NF ATACR line.

Great optics when compared to other Tier 1 optics (S&B, TT, NF etc).

They certainly look more affordable than the TT and new NF prices.

    Any one had a tutu?

Think dead eye dicks are getting some in. Ring Tracey and ask.

I have had a look at a 527. A very well made scope with fantastic optics. Reticle was a bit busy for me as I only hunt, no competition or long range shooting.

    I don't want to look at 1...

I did ring Stager's and inquire about them but luckily for me (my wallet) they didn't have any in stock for me to look at. I have a few Kahles now, all left hand windage and SKMR3 reticles so I'm going to stick with them as I'm more than happy with them. Other than some additional elevation range, I don't really feel like I'm missing out on much and I don't want to have to buy new mounts for the 36mm tubes either.
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

    Fair enough.

I'm in the market for glass and with the NF price gouging in NZ for an ATACR I might as well look at ZCO

I have had a play with a couple on other shooters rifles. Very nice optics but I ended up buying TT in the end

They look very much like the Tangent Theta

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Yeah, definitely agree with that. If I was starting again then I'd be pretty tempted by the ZCO when comparing them to NF at the local prices. Might still land with what I have given they are $2k cheaper...

    Looked through their spec sheet.

Always going to be one thing on paper and another in the field.

With specs like light transmission and field of view being talking points it seems scope weight and length are only going up, along with tube size for elevation.

Dropped a lot of coin on a second hand S&B Ultra Short, when turned up to max (20 power) the optics are certainly not as good/hi-def as some of the other big names, but I like it, which is what matters in the end.

Having said that, it needed to be sent back to the factory on day one as the zero stop on the elevation turret was not moving.

Good thing I bought from a dealer despite the usual 'fine when it left here' line, when it turned up at the factory in Germany on a Monday it was back on my door by that Friday (and living in the middle of nowhere, post by ferry) all sorted and serviced with apologies, despite the fact it was someone else in the UK who fucked up.

Anyway sorry for the rant, point being everyone and their Nan are coming up with scopes now (look at Element Optics from FX Airguns/Matt Dubber), a lot of rebrands going on and you can see some of the switchgear is similar or even the same (look very closely at some of the Made in Japan Vortex, Ziess etc.).

No point having a top tier dogs bollocks scope if the company goes out of business in 5 years...

What do the Kahles cost @The Claw? I know Sam D is a big fan.

I hear you mate. I have the luxury of friends with deeper pockets than me who use most of the top gear and therefore get to try it our from time to time.

I think S&B is great, they just need to catch up with the rest of the market re reticles and features.

There are a ton of scopes in the $1k range and less coming out of LOW in Japan with slightly different logos and badges that are i'm sure are reasonable performers for the price. I like to shoot competitions and long range 1600m plus so want a scope that dials and glass with resolution to spot my misses!

    Cheers,

using the usaf chart I could make out more with the tt, by only one line. and if I'm honest I just love the feel of the currents on the tt- am happy to dial without looking and I have never felt that with any other scope. the tool free zerostop change is very handy with a switch barrel rifle.

Im now trying to work out how to sneak a third one past the mrs, but need to move some old stuff first
